Federal University Dutse Postgraduate Admission Requirement

Before applying for Federal University Dutse School of Postgraduate Studies and obtaining the FUD PG application form, there are certain requirements you must meet to prove you are eligible for admission. Below are the requirements.

1.  Postgraduate Diploma
   1. Graduates of Federal University Dutse or any other recognized institution of higher learning with a minimum of Third Class.
   2. Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower Credit or its equivalent in the relevant area.
   3. In special cases holders of HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in non-related areas may be admitted after passing such tests as may be prescribed by the Department/Faculty.
   4. Students who hold qualifications other than the above, which are acceptable to the Board of School of Postgraduate Studies and Senate of the University.
   5. In addition to (i) – (iv) above, a student must satisfy the University’s requirements for matriculation.

   2. Master’s Degree (Academic and Professional)

   1. Graduates of Federal University Dutse or any other recognized institution of higher learning who have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field with at least Second Class (Hons.) or its equivalent, or students with a university degree and appropriate Postgraduate Diploma of Federal University Dutse or any other recognized institution of higher learning with at least a credit.
   2. Students whose degrees are unclassified with an average of “C” or 50% or above may be subjected to qualifying tests.
   3. Students with a Bachelor’s Degree in Third Class Division and a Postgraduate Diploma from any recognized institution of higher learning in the relevant areas.
   4. Students who possess HND with a minimum of credit from any recognized institution of higher learning and a minimum of credit at the Postgraduate Diploma level of the Federal University Dutse or any other recognized institution in the relevant areas.
   5. Students who hold qualifications other than the ones stated above, which are acceptable to the Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Senate.
   6. In addition to (i) –(v) above, a student must satisfy the Federal University Dutse requirements for matriculation.

   3. Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)

   1. Graduates of Federal University Dutse or any other recognized institution of higher learning with a good Master’s degree (minimum CGPA of not less than 3.50 on a 5- point scale or not less than 2.50 on a 4-point scale.) in the relevant field.
   2. Holders of Master’s degree in a cognate discipline with a CGPA of 3.50 and above on a 5- point scale or 2.50 and above on a 4-point scale.
   3. Students who hold qualifications other than the ones listed above, which are acceptable to the Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Senate of the University.
   4. In addition to (i) – (iii) above, a student must satisfy the Federal University Dutse requirements for matriculation.

   4. Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

   1. Graduates of Federal University Dutse or any other recognized institution of higher learning who have obtained a Master’s degree with a CGPA of 3.50 and above on a 5-point scale or 2.50 and above on a 4-point scale appropriate to the proposed areas of study or B average grades.
   2. Students with M.Phil. in the relevant specialty.
   3. Students with a Professional Master’s degree plus Bachelor’s degree in the Second Class Lower Division.
   4. Students who hold qualifications other than the ones mentioned above which are acceptable to the Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Senate of the Federal University Dutse.
   5. A Ph.D. student who satisfies all admission requirements except the CGPA can be considered for admission into the M.Phil./Ph.D. programme provided that the CGPA is at least 3.00.
   6. In addition to the requirements above, a student must satisfy the Federal University Dutse requirements for matriculation.

Federal University Dutse Postgraduate Form 2023/2024

The Federal University Dutse School of Postgraduate Studies invites applications from suitably qualified candidates into the various FUD postgraduate programmes (Postgraduate Diploma, Masters degree, and Ph.D.) for the 2023/2024 academic session on a full-time and part-time basis. 

Only those who meet the entry requirements for admission as outlined above are eligible to obtain the admission form.

How to Apply for Federal University Dutse Postgraduate Admission Form 2023/2024

1. 1. Visit the FUD PG portal at http://sps.fud.edu.ng.
   2. Click Sign Up to create an account. After you sign up you will see your payment invoice that contains payment information. On the Sign Up page, you can create an account by providing your first name, middle name, last name, e-mail, password, and phone number and specify your programme of choice.
   3. Click on the pay now button on the payment invoice page, you will automatically generate your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR). Applicants can pay online or at any designated bank by using the generated RRR.
   4. Click on the verify payment button to verify your payment using RRR. Your application ID will be sent via SMS and e-mail if the payment is successful.
   5. Return to the application page and log in with your application ID as username and your password to fill the application form. Make sure you review all entries to ensure accuracy before submission.
   6. Upload the necessary documents.
   7. A printed acknowledgement slip would be used during admission and registration processes.

   Note: The exam date and time for the Federal University Dutse PG screening test will be communicated to you through the contact details you submitted during registration.
